The South East Field days, held annually in March each year, is located at Lucindale, in the Limestone Coast area of South Australia. Lucindale is half hour from Naracoorte, 90 minutes from Mount Gambier, and 3 and half hours from Adelaide. ( Location map.)
The South East Field Days has developed into the largest annual 2 day Field Days in South Australia, catering for over 500 exhibitors located on over 600 sites. As well as many outdoor displays, there are also 4 large pavilions that house over 100 different exhibitors inside, from the small cottage hobby person, to large corporations. The Field Days are a combination of agricultural, environmental, educational, technological and general interest displays, providing visitors with an opportunity to view a wide range of static exhibits and the latest innovations in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. The Field days attract between 22000 and 25000 people to the event annually.
The Field days are staged on Yakka Park, a 45 hectare site that has been continually developed and upgraded for the specific purpose of staging the Field days. The site now has numerous permanent buildings, 4 toilet blocks, including one toilet/shower block, and a fully equipped air conditioned administration centre. There are also underground services that include water, power, telecommunication and P/A system. The site also has Security fencing and security light towers, car and truck parks, and an all weather air strip. The site is covered by magnificent green grass that is maintained throughout the year. The Field days is a family event. There are many attractions for all members of the family. The Field day committee seeks out features from throughout Australia, and has new features and old favourites each year. Some of the features from the 2008 Field Days included:

The next annual Field Days will be held on March 20th and 21st 2009. Admission charges remain the same, $10 for Adults, school children free on Friday, $5 on Saturday. There will be plenty of caterer's on site, to suit every taste. From breakfast bbq's, to hot dogs, hot meat rolls, steaks, burgers, chips, fish fillet burgers, baked potatoes, smoked trout, pizzas, Chinese food, Indonesian food, sandwiches, pies, pasties, sausage rolls, homemade cakes, crayfish sandwiches, cookies, fresh fruit salad, strawberries and ice cream, yoghurt, pancakes, mousse, pavlovas, together with a full range of drinks, the list goes on and on. Certainly something to suit every taste bud.
The Field days also provides the following complementary services to patrons to make their visit to the Field days an enjoyable experience. At each of the catering areas, tables and chairs are provided. A courtesy air conditioned bus runs all day, and is free for any of the public to get on and off at any of the 12 bus stops located throughout the site. A free program is handed out at each gate. This is a full colour glossy program that contains all the information required to ensure that you know where things are and when attractions and features are taking place. Included in the centre of the Program are the free gate prize coupons. Use these coupons to go into the free draws to win prizes worth over $3000. Just follow the instructions. A free courier service is also available for those large purchases. Simply fill out the form and your goods will be delivered to the courier tent near the car park.
The Field days also caters for those with a competitive spirit. Why not consider entering in the scarecrow competition or the mailbox competition! Gather a few friends and compete in the Truck pull competition. All entry forms will be on the website closer to the Field Days. Just fill in an entry form and fax it to the secretary, or post it in to reach the secretary prior to the closing date. All details will be on the entry forms. These competitions are free to enter and carry great prizes.
